Just a snippet of an interview with Tara in HS.

Quote
AV: What's been the most special moment of your career so far?
TM: Probably committing to the number 1 team in the nation (Nebraska) was definitely one of the most special moments.

AV: Give us a glimpse into how you were recruited, what schools and how you ended up signing with Nebraska?
TM: I started with my recruiting locally, just in Arizona with ASU and U of A as a freshman, then in my sophomore year I took some visits to California schools ( Long Beach, Loyola Marymount, UCLA). Nebraska was the farthest school I looked at, but once you go out there and experience what that place has to offer and meet the people, you end up loving the whole atmosphere. Everything about it seemed so different with people and coaches who really care about you and that is what helped make my decision so easy.

AV: The winters in Lincoln (Nebraska) can dip well below zero, do you own any "cold weather" clothes?
TM: Not at all….some hoodies and jeans are about as warm as I get now…..I am going to have to purchase a whole new wardrobe

AV: How do you think you will fit into the 2007 Nebraska team?
TM: I've met all the girls and I think I'll fit in pretty well on and off the court. We all have that competitive attitude and want to win on the court, but have fun and can joke around off the court.

AV: What is your major and what are your career plans and aspirations?
TM: I don't have a planned college major yet but I would like to major in business and minor in Portuguese if they offer it because I would love to play pro beach volleyball in Brazil as a future career.

I will be watching pro beach volleyball in 4 years!

Lord, I would like to thank at this time for putting women like this on this fine earth and second I would like to thank you for bringing them to Nebraska!

On a side not it really is sad that every player on the vball team is taller than me. But I do like long legs!

Bo is a tremendous leader. He's a no nonsense guy. It's black and white and these guys understand that. These players want to be taught and they want to be pushed, and they want to know at the end of the day you give a damn about them.  Mike Ekeler

I'll volunteer to teach Portuguese if NU doesn't already have a prof. in place.

I'm 5'9, and I have a thing against taller girls (stems from that night with the 6'2 gal from Creighton...).  Well, at least I still have Rachel Schwartz  Cheesy

Você fala português, rapaz? Aprendi português na Universidade de Nebraska de Prof. Colin M. Pierson.
