What kind of nut has to put his screen name under his posts when his screen name is 3 inches to the left? Savvy?

Is this the same Dan Young who wouldn't recruit his last year here?

No.

That was Milt.

lots of whining about recruiting under Frank in this thread.  Typical form by a few.

Funny thing is if you look at Scout, his team ranks were higher than BC's.  Also, they were as high or higher than TO's.  Fall back to the draft picks, and you see a lot of NU players picked in the last several years.  Anyway you cut it, the Frank and Co. couldn't recruit myth is being eviscerated.  That's why I'm excited as hell about having Bo and many of that '03 staff back. They will recruit well AND coach well.

It isn't the players as much as its the coaches.  Unless you are dealing on the fringe (the Vince's, the Reggie's, the Lawrence's, etc), the quality of player across DI is pretty consistent.

Obviously you need the game breakers to win championships, but it's what you do with the "average" player that determines how consistently successful you will be.

I don't blame you for typing this, but its an incorrect statement.  Both Dan Young AND Milt Tenipor recruited just the same as they always did.

That rumor was started by non-other than Dave Gillespie so there would be some "legs" to their "retirement."

As much as people can't wait to rail on the previous staff, I will NEVER give a "pass" to the one before that just because of what transpired with Bill Callahan.

It was a BS smokescreen to create the perception that certain coaches needed to go.  Young and Tenopir were fine.

Maybe that's how Pederson came up with it?Huh

It's the same screen he and biLL hid behind for four years.

Frank and Co had serious trouble recruiting elite offensive talent. That was a major shortfall in their recruiting. They did better on the defensive side.

they had trouble with running backs too for the latter part of their regime. We were short on difference makers across the board offensively.
