Good read!  Thanks.  I was hoping something along these lines would happen.

Good deal BRE, nice to see that they're bringing it back. That's really been missing the past few years.

Any clue what the reasoning was for getting rid of it in the first place?

How about Broderick Crawford from the old Highway Patrol TV series?  Restore some law and order.

Callahan wanted total authority.  Purify wouldnt have played this year under the unity council,,,or possibly wouldnt have gotten into trouble in the first place.

I asked a question on their blogs and didn't get a response (go figure), but I'll ask it here:

If Bo agrees to this, what kind of changes do you see in the Unity Council? It's clear a lot has changed since the early '90s.

I suspect you're right Valiant, but what a boneheaded move. The Unity Council served us well. Dumb move to simply get rid of it just because you don't understand it. Just a symptom of Callahan not even making an effort to understand the traditions here I guess.

I had no idea TO was that pissed after the georgia tech game.  I mean, I was, but who cares what I thought.  Very surprising indeed.  I think I'm starting to see the transition pattern starting a few years before the real results showed up.

I'm actually certain it was discontinued prior to the 2003 season when Pelini was hired.

i have this with my college teams that i coach. its a great way for some of the players to bring things to my attention without throwing them under the bus, plus they are more comfortable about doing it.

I do mine a little different. mine are as followed
2 captains and then one senoir-Frosh
