Dave Kennedy, who just left Nebraska's program a few weeks ago, has been hired to head the Texas A&M football strength program.
"Dave comes to A&M with a wealth of experience," A&M coach Mike Sherman said. "It has always amazed me while in the NFL, how many players who were coached by Dave in college wanted to go train with him no matter where he was. He is a very well-respected coach.
"Over his tenure at Ohio State, I know he turned down numerous NFL jobs. New England head coach Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli (vice president for player personnel for the Patriots) think Dave is the best at what he does, as do I."
Kennedy was the strength coach at Nebraska under Head Football Coach Bill Callahan from 2004-07. He held a similar position for many years at Ohio State.
An Omaha native, he got his start in the NU strength and conditioning program in 1982 as a student assistant under Boyd Epley.
