QFT.  He'd fit right in with the current group.

Only he'd be faster, nastier attitude, bigger motor and a desire to win. Other than that he would fit right in. Smiley

Frazier...pure and simple, a winner!

Offense: Lawrence Phillips - as long as I can select him without the criminal behavior.

Defense: Mike Minter

Guys...Tommie Frazier? Granted, he was a winner, and one of the best  - if not THE best option quarterback ever to strap on the pads, but his passing skills were light years behind what is needed at NU circa 2007-08, which is the period in question.

If Tim Tebow can win the Heisman running a spread option attack then  I can guarantee that Tommie Frazier would be able to survive in the offense(s) of 2008.

Yes, MadRat.

The same Tommie Frazier whose career completion percentage was 49%, despite a liberal use of shovel passes and a play-action passing game predicated on the greatest rushing offense of all time. His passing skills would not have been adequate for the WCO under Callahan, and wouldn't likely pass muster in the "Nebraska Offense" OC Shawn Watson is installing for 2008.

I am not denigrating Tommie Frazier; he was one of the greatest college quarterbacks of all time. His skills wouldn't transfer well to a more pass-oriented offense any more than Peyton Manning's would to an option attack.

TF seldom was put in drop-back situations on pure passing plays ... usually play action which has fewer reads, and let's face it, with our rushing game, usually the defense is a bit taken by surprise ...

QB is not our biggest position of need this year anyway, defense is where we need players ... mike minter, ed stewart, farley, these are the guys i'd pick ... remember on those teams, jason peter and wistrom weren't the leaders others were ... that came later ...

interesting...i would definitely want mike minter to have played on the team...but then the question becomes: would BC and coz drowned out their talent? would they have still shone as much as they did back then?
