What are the chances that if we go to the Gator Bowl it could be a rematch vs VaTech? I'm not sure where they stand in the ACC, but those standings change everytime the wind blows...and I'm also unsure of how the bowl reps feel about taking teams that have already squared off.

I'd think it would be a very interesting way to gauge our progress since our last non-conference game...

its a possibility, but as of now, I see Va Tech winning the ACC.....although, i could be completely wrong,

I wouldn't mind playing someone like a Maryland, or North Carolina........and having a matchup involving Florida St or Miami would be absolutely perfect too...I just love watching the Big12 vs ACC matchups. It feels like it fits together better than any other two conferences.

The Gator Bowl seems interested in a Florida State matchup.... which I have mixed feelings about. Jacksonville is basically a home game for them.

I'd like to kill them. I'm a bit over losing to them in bowl games, even though it's been awhile since the last one.

Likely Zero. They likely won't be an option and even if they are bowls don't like repeating regular season matchups.

We will likely either get Florida State or Boston College with BC being most likely IMO.

I have to agree w/some that it's doubtful NU would get a rematch w/VT. Although I would love to administer some payback.  However if we get chosen to go to the Gator Bowl I would rather play against FSU or MIami. Smiley

Not me.  I want Nebraska's opponent to actually have to get on a plane to travel to the bowl game.  A game against FSU in the Gator Bowl, as someone else previously mentioned, is practically a home game for them.  Hell, why don't we just make this as easy as we can for the Seminoles and play the Gator Bowl in Tallahassee?  <rolling eyes>

To the point of the thread: According to an official from the Gator Bowl a rematch with Virginia Tech won't happen.

Too bad they didn't feel that way in '78.

I don't understand why anyone can complain about who we might play in the Gator Bowl.

It looks probable that the Gator Bowl will be getting an ACC team coming off of at least one loss unless they take Miami.
Boston College has yet to play MD.  If they win that game they are in the ACC champ game.
If BC loses to MD then FSU is in the champ game.  FSU would be coming off a loss to Florida in all probability.  So if they get to the Gator Bowl they will have been O-2 in their last two games.  BC had their QB injured yesterday.
In the other Division GT, VT and Miami  probably will all finish 5/3 in conference.  VT has a tie breaker over GT, GT has one over Miami.
VT looks to be the favorite to win the ACC.  The Chik-fil-A picks next from the ACC.  If they take GT that would be a home game for them filling up the stands.  Gator is next - FSU for the same reason.
If husker fans would rather not play FSU they better hope FSU wins the ACC.  Then the Gator would pick from VT or Miami. - Hello thug U!

If the Huskers can beat CU and get a Gator Bowl bid we all should be happy.  A New Years Day Bowl!  That is more than most husker fans anticipated this year.  We would be decent match with any one of those ACC teams.

By the way, those of us who live on the East Coast wouldl enjoy being close to the bowl.  For any of you who have not been there Jacksonville is a great place to visit.

exactly!  that was bush league ...

we get our shot at vtech next year ... we can beat them in blacksburgh and make a statement ...

let's go beat fsu, maryland, or someone like that ... BC would be nice too, i'd love to take on an east coast darling .... i had to endure the last couple years hearing how rutgers is such an up and comer and how big red is dead ..,,

yeah right ....

Nebraska  fans travel well this would hardly be a home game. I'm guessing the turn out for nebraska fans at the game would be the same or more than fsu fans

I guess all those Orange Bowl losses with eastern and southern teams is lost on the current generation.  Unless the referee's come from the Big 10 or MAC its a wasted cause.  ie the referee's we had in Lincoln during the VA Tech game should set off red flags.
