Can someone confirm what I think I'm seeing....that Clemson isn't even listed as "others receiving votes?"  Roll Eyes

From the inside you can't explain it.  From the outside looking in you don't understand it.  That is what it means to be a Husker fan.

Who cares?  Smiley  They will be another stepping stone in NU's rise back to the top. Smiley  We'll crush them.

Wish we played Florida State since it would've been the sexier matchup, but this should be a good game. Two head coaches that are in their first year and Clemson are on just of a high as we are right now.

They also "dismissed" their DC, Vic Koenning today. No official word though, so it's unknown if he'll coach through the bowl game or not. I'm thinking not, but that's just speculation on my part.

What the hell?? They are like the 7th best team in the ACC. That sucks. This whole bowl system sucks.

From a marketing standpoint, this makes no sense.  I would have loved to get FSU or Miami, but Clemson?  They arent anything but a perpetually drunken skid mark with a pet rock and an overrated (even at 7-5) team.

Here's their stats.  Appears they rely more on the D than the O.

I read their DC is leaving since it was not clear about his job after the bowl.So he has a D that carries the team and they let him go. The offense is the problem. I have read they were 7-5 and also 8-4. So what is their record.HP also lists them as having a much tougher strength of schedule.  Huh? I don't understand that. Everybody knows the Big 12 is the dominant conference this year and VT was no slouch.

Lookd like Safety Hamlin and WLB conners are the stars on D and CJ Spiller is the home run threat running or catching. Also have James Davis a power runner and a QB throwing for 63% completion rate. But offensively they suck. QB doesn't look mobile, so we should eat them up. It would be nice to have a healthy Dilliard and perhaps Cody Glenn back. We need some run stuffers.

Clearly we have the advantage in passing and total offense, as well as punt returns and they have the advantage in pass defense. But I think Ganz and company can get enough yards to open up the run game with Helu. Nu by 5 pts I say.

Taking Clemson a little lightly I think.

Clemson’s defense led the ACC in scoring defense and ranked ninth in the nation allowing just 16.6 points per game.

They have won four out of their last five games and have been playing much, much better since they fired their head coach.  This is far from any easy win.  I know it's not the big name we were looking for, but I'm just damn glad we'll have a team we can match up with fairly well.  I don't know that we'll even be favored in this game.

The game is in Florida and it's on New Year's Day.  That's good enough for me this year.
