BHF users:

Please be aware that the copying and pasting of entire articles from other websites, newspapers, etc., is strictly forbidden by US Copyright laws.  A link to the article is OK, however, these websites want and need people viewing their own websites in order to generate ad revenue.  Thus, an industry has developed in which lawyers sue bloggers, message boards, and other violators of these laws in order to make a quick buck.

If BHF users continue to copy and paste whole articles, BHF could potentially face such lawsuits.  In order to prevent this, Mods and Admins at BHF will edit and warn offending posters.  Repeat offenders are subject to suspension and/or ban from the board.  Sorry, but we must take a hard stance on this issue.

Thank you for your cooperation.

The last thing I want to see is bhf.com sued out of existence.   Sad

To help people out, here's a great way to post a story, regardless of subject:

1.  Find a story you want to post...duh.
2.  Copy and then paste a sentence, or short paragraph, from the artice.
3.  Provide the url, highlight it and then click the "Insert Hyperlink" icon--it's the globe looking icon underneath the U icon.
4.  Then highlight the entire thing and click the quote icon--it looks like a dialogue box.

After you're finished your post should look something akin to this:

I found this interesting article...

Quote
Whether you're trying to lose a few pounds or just hold your weight steady, eating a healthy, balanced breakfast can help you out.

http://www.delish.com/recipes/cooking-recipes/low-calorie-breakfasts?GT1=47048

Then provide whatever commentary, opinion and/or take you have.

Or, if you want to get "fancy" you can still have the hyperlink but alter the way it looks...for example the same link as above I can make it look like this:

Healthy Breakfasts

Just make sure and find the part of the article that gives us the best "tease."

Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds was arrested today for stealing a lollipop from an infant, then charging the mother $100 because the lollipop was burnt orange.

...it was an example of how to post a teaser and then a link.

Good reminder.

Suggestion? I am not as familiar with this forum software sa I am VB and others, but is there an easier way to post links like this?

EXAMPLE

So, rather than, when you select text and hit the hyperlink icon it just surrounds the word with [url= } via a pop up that allows you to paste the link, hit enter, and have the word or sentence selected become the hyper link?
It's a fairly minor point but makes the posts cleaner and also allows one to make a point by linking through a word.

Sure you can do it manually as I dd above, this would jut be simpler.

I didn't find that article interesting at all...

I used it as an example of how one might go about posting an article and supporting link to stay on the legal side of US copyright law.

Which is what this thread is all about.
