1.  College football 2010 is FINALLY here!!!!!

2.  It'll be interesting to see how well Middle Tennessee State moves the ball against Cosfails's defense.

3.  Should we root for or against Minnesota?

Gophers win.  Good.  I like Minnesota.

What are the odds Cosgrove will still be at Minnesota next year?

Not good.  It'll depend <surprise> on how on Minnesota does this year.  If they're .500 or lower, I think the whole staff gets canned.

His "bend but don't break" defense is flexing all the way to the end zones

I watched the game and and two thoughts occurred to me:

1.  Minnesota appears to have a good running game and a halfway decent passing offense.  (Of course it was against Middle Tennesse State who who really knows at this point.)

2.  The Golden Gophers continue to be extremely weak on defense.  Middle Tennessee State's QB sliced up Cosfailure's defense like a hot knife through butter.  And the tackling from the Gophers on defense was absolutely atrocious.  (Jeez I wonder where I have seen that weak, pathetic stuff perviously?)

Bottom line: Minnesota is a team looking at 6-6, or worse, this year.

As long as that idiot Cosgrove is there, Minnesota's defense will be a joke.

The thing is, even before Cosfailure leeched onto that team, Minnesota's defense was consistenly ranked in the 50-70's in the four major categories if I recall correctly.

So all in all, the Gophers defense will definitely get worse the longer Costard stays, but it's not that much further for them to fall.

(It's not like when Bo left Nebraska with a defense ranked 11th nationally and by the time Cosmoron was fired we were 114th nationally.)

Oh I hope Cosgrove is at Minnesota next year.  I'd love to pound his arse for the horrid defense he taught at NU.   Smiley
