Is it just me, or was every big pass play a crappy pass?  Most of the time, our corners were playing the ball like a perfect pass.  When it got underthrown, their WR's were able to make a play on the ball.

It's called purposefully underthrowing the ball and OSU used it to near perfection.

Under throwing the ball works because: a) the WR knows it's going to happen and b) if the DB isn't looking back for the ball, at the minimum it'll be a 15 yard PI call.

(Which is another reason why I don't like the "faceguarding" technique so many teams use but that's another conversation / thread entirely.)

PPl... that rec. leads the nation in receiving. So what they were doing, they have been doing to everybody else. He has great size, towered over our DBs and made NFL type adjustments to passes. Sigh.... I want one of those for our team Santa. Heck if I was the QB...i would just throw it up there and let him go for it too. Underthrown or overthrown I would like the chances he comes down with it with his instinctive abilities and talent for pulling it in.

Right now Denard is a better corner than prince and the only reason is confidence.  Those 2 have polar opposite personalities.  Denard plays like he dares you to throw his way because tha't another opportunity  for him to make a play.  If Prince can adopt the same mentality with the attitude of if they come my way they are going to pay for it, then the skies the limit.
Smith is an excellent saftey, I'm not at practice so I don't know all the reasons he isn't starting every game and playing all the sanps but IMHO he is the most disciplined and technically sound true saftey we have.  The others are talented but don't yet trust the scheme and their teamates enough to overcome the desire to get out of position.

This^^

I was at the game.  Anytime the ball was thrown to a different receiver you could just tell that our secondary was more athletically talented and the coverage was sound.  When they threw it to Blackmon he looked like the more physically talented (obviously) player.  He is going to make plays on the ball even if there is good coverage.

Mizzou doesn't have anyone that can hold Blackmon's jock.

Wasn't he fabulous? He is listed at 6-1 207lbs... Huh? Played more like 6-5 230 lbs to me.

Gabbert has been playing well making good decisions. Last yr we got pressure on him and he made mistakes (2 picks). Of course Suh was in his face a lot and put him out the game, but we also blitzed him effectively. I think Carl will dial it up as game goes on and force Gabbert to move around and make tuff decisions. Especially if we are leading and Mizzou has to play catch up.
