I do not see us losing again either. Should get interesting. We had to lose to Texas, didn't we?

2nd highest 1 loss team.  people saying we have no chance to get back up there, it's not impossible.   utah and tcu play each other next week so there's one.  auburn and alabama play later so there's 2.  keep the faith baby!!

1. oregon
2. auburn
3. tcu
4. boise st.
5. utah
6. alabama
7. nebraska

Impossible?  no.  But the problem is the strength of our ratings is from the computers, and our SOS is only going to drop through the rest of the regular season.  We could easily win out, and still drop in the computer rankings.  Odds are still stacked heavily against us.

Bama will very much extend their gap over us if they win.

Actually if OSU , Missouri, and Iowa State (after we beat them) win out, that will increase our SOS. KU and CU would hurt it a little but since they are at the end of the season it won't be as bad.

then auburn will drop.  below us?  who knows.  we need OU to win out until we beat them in the conf title game.  then get some help, but hey it's o.k. to dream right now.

Not including SDSU, if I counted correctly, our opponents to date have a record of 31-25.  Our future opponents have a record of 15-18.  75% of the remaining opponents of those teams you cite are also on our schedule, so them "winning out" isn't going to have much impact on our overall SOS.

We need some help but it is possible to get to Glendale this year.  Auburn has to lose in the regular season.  They will play Alabama in the SEC Championship game and may be the only team left to beat them.  Oregon will not lose but if they do it will be against Arizona.  If that happens strength of schedule will come into play and it will be a one loss Nebraska (after beating #8 OU) against a one loss Alabama.  Epic.

That is an excellent question.

Honestly, I'm so disgusted with the whole BCS arrangement, that I'm hoping for a TCU-Boise State match-up, so the University Presidents will finally blow the POS to smithereens.

This will be the curse put upon NU by Texas more than the loss in the last game they'll play in a while.  If we win out they still get the last laugh...!@#$%

Let's see... Texas is sitting at 4-4 (2-3 in the Big 12).  They could easily lose 3 of their remaining games.  I don't think they are laughing at anyone at the moment.

The so-called "curse" of Texas is - just like every other "curse" out there - strictly in the minds of the cursed.  We choked, pure and simple.  It had nothing to do with Texas, but it had plenty to do with the obsession Texas has become, and the idiotic decision in the marketing department to stoke those flames to the point where the whole season rested on one otherwise meaningless game.

Oh, well.  the only championship Nebraska should ever be focused on is the only REAL championship available to them under the current system:  the conference championship.  Win that, and the season is a success.  I don't think anyone outside of the two teams participating cares much about who wins the so-called national championship.  It is nothing but a mass illusion, anyway.

He's talking about the computer rankings (average).  Boise State is 5.  Missouri is 4.  Nebraska is 6.
