Excerpt.

There's buzz that Pelini might be considering Houston offensive coordinator Jason Phillips. And I've been told Pelini has talked to Scott Frost about possibly joining the staff. As offensive coordinator? Wide receivers coach? That's unclear. This much is certain: Pelini would inject ample energy into his program by hiring the former Nebraska quarterback and current Oregon receivers coach. Frost is a rising star in the business. He would be the perfect panacea for whatever discomfort Husker fans may be feeling.

If so, he looks like he might be a good hire.  The Houston offense has been quite successful recently.

Ah, I was wondering when someone would start tracking flights into Lincoln!   Wink

Don't they run a run and shoot?  I'd hate to see that as our offense....especially with the QB's we have.

No, it's the "Holgorsen Spread" ala OSU now WVU.  They did have 3 1000-yard receivers in the same season recently though.

3 1000 yard receivers?  That requires more talent then NU currently has, Nebraska has no pocket passers and no receivers that can win 1 on 1 match-ups.  Kinnie is a great possession receiver but the talent level is not good enough for that type of commitment to the passing game.  IMO

The Houston offensive (do they run the pistol?) does not seem a good match for the athletes Bo has recruited to play QB.

I didn't see us throwing the rock 50 times a game last year with TMart as QB.  Instead, the QB run game was featured, which seems like a pretty good match to TMart's skill set, no?

Maybe the coach knows how to run more than just that offense? Just a guess.
