Great, I can remove my avatar and MOVE ON.

Joe Paterno is famous for the qoute, "act like you've been there before".  Simply put, be classy!!!!  A few here and other boards are having a problem with this!!!

Him removing his MA avatar is classy.  He's moved on.
I would guess my use of the word "Great" was misinterpreted, which is my fault.  I don't think it's great some guys lost their jobs, even though I whined about that for almost 2 years out of frustration for the team's struggles and was also convinced that Osborne was not overly concerned with it.  The last season and a half (more than that for others) was grating, I didn't like having to accept losses as part of the "purging" process for the program, but even former players who had no problem with MA are saying this move was necessary.  I also feel good about T.O. and presumably Paul Meyers' leadership in this transition.

From a d dollars and cents perspective, who really gives a damn about NU baseball?  It is a sport that has absolutely no hope of breaking even.  Even when NU made the CWS it was a tremendous letdown in Omaha - NU fans brought $0 additional revenue to the CWS compared to any other team that would have traveled.  Absolutely no one in the Big 10 cares about baseball, so yeah for us to be the big fish in a sh*tpond.

If Tom wanted to make a statement, he would have fired Doc instead....NU hoops has the potential to be a big deal.  I guarandamn tee you that when the new arena opens up and the seats are still half full because the team sucks something will have to happen.

So, should the baseball program be dropped? Breaking even?  WIth this line of thinking why play any mens sport other than football?  How did the "breaking even" do when Haymarket was full and tickets were hard to find?

I do care about baseball and the program.  We should strive to be the best and not just accept mediocrity. We need to make the same committment to the baseball program that we do for football. Put a winning product on the field and they will come.
