Here are the selections.  Creighton on the road to Corvallis, UCLA gets to host for some reason despite an RPI in the 30s.

And Texas gets a ridiculously easy regional.

Texas State, Kent State and Princeton.

Are you frickin' kidding me?

I can't believe some of the teams that made it with losing records.  Guessing they won their conference tourneys.

Manhattan and Florida are playing live on ESPNU right now.  The announcers have already referenced the Jaspers' monumental upset of NU in 2006 several times.  I doubt we'll see a repeat.

Looking back, that was probably the beginning of the end for Mike Anderson, although it took awhile before the end actually came. That was a huge disappointment-we became one of only a few teams to get a top 8 seed and go 0-2 in our own regional.

Pretty much.

Big upsets today:
Austin Peay State 2
Georgia Tech 1

San Francisco 3
UCLA 0

There were some surprising wins by 3 seeds, too.  Good start to the tournament.

Just as long as TexAss gets knocked out I don't really care who wins!   Wink

The more teams that haven't been here in a while, the better.  Of course, knocking out Texas and Florida State would be real good.

I always root for the northern teams.  So, go Connecticut and Oregon State!

North Carolina advances.  Texas and Mississippi State forced 3rd games in their respective series.  Vandy and Oregon State are tied right now.  Cal bludgeoned Dallas Baptist led by their hippie fruitcake pitcher who gave all of his teammates a hug before the game and creeped me out a little.

A&M gets a leg up on #5 FSU; South Carolina beat UConn and Virginia shut out Irvine.

Teams that have advanced so far UNC,Vandy,Cal,South Carolina,Florida, and Texass Sad  I hope Virginia and aTm move on.  If Virginia and FSU win that means the CWS will have 3 SEC and 3 ACC teams.  Sheesh that would be domination by the south.
