The latest rumor I have heard is that Logan Ehlers is looking at transferring to somewhere in Texas. Anyone else heard this or know anything about it? I heard it from someone that lives in Nebraska city and has a child that went to school with him, so I'm not sure how accurate it is...........

I think it matters on who the new coach is.

At this point, losing him would suck, but NU will be better off in the end with a new coach.

I haven't heard anything about that. I post on another board with people from Nebraska City and nobody has said anything about that. I recall there were a lot of rumors before he signed with Nebraska that he was going to go somewhere south, but they turned out to not be true. I think we won't know for sure on who's not going to be back until the new coach is chosen.

Ehlers left the program, according to 10/11 in Lincoln.

That sucks. His parents probably made the decision for him.

He said it was his own decision, btw. Still, this leaves a big void on our pitching staff. I wonder how he would've faired with Ted Silva.

Heard he came into camp way out of shape and has an attitude and Silva and Erstad won't put up with that.

Good for them not bending over for this kid.  Much like BO doesn't.

Would of liked to seen a full season from him, but if out of shape, not dedicated enough!

Me too, but I agree if out of shape and not dedicated to the program then see ya wouldn't want to be ya!  This is why Erstad was chosen.  He wants guys that will give 110% effort.  That was lacking under MA.

Somehow I can't picture Joba coming to camp with a 6 pack. Beer yes, abs no.
Thought I heard that he wanted to go juco so he could get into the draft quicker. Make sense to anyone? Maybe he wanted to go to college for baseball and found out you have to take classes too. Just a guess.

If you go division 1, its 3 years.  Does a juco make it faster?

I went to the Husker Home Run Club banquet tonight and one of the boosters told me the reason that Ehlers left because he didn't want to work hard for Darin Erstad. Ehlers and his dad are prima donnas and they wanted things done for them and Erstad wanted no part of that so they cut ties. One day Erstad made Ehlers run laps through the pedestrian bridge near Haymarket Park and that apparently was the last straw.  Ehlers finished out his semester at Nebraska then transferred to some small college in Texas.
