Too bad, he would have been great to have back. But realistically, we didn't have a great chance of keeping him.

I am confused about the Big Ten rules about this.  Do we lose a scholarship next year because we lost a player to MLB?  Can anyone clarify the rules and the impact?

According to research cited in "The Sociopath Next Door," one in every 25 people is a sociopath.  This means they have no conscience and no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt or remorse.  They can literally do anything at all without feeling guilty.  You undoubtedly know at least one.

No real surprise.  I would've been more surprised if he had come back for 1 more year.

Agreed. Cody made it pretty clear right after the draft what his intentions were.

Asche had 12 homers, which isn't anything to get too excited about most years, but this wasn't most years.  With the new (deader) bats, I think they said home run production dropped in half in average per game across college baseball.  In that context, Asche had one hell of a season at the plate.  I wish him well; sure would have been nice to have him one more year, though.
