You beat me to it!  I logged on with the intention of starting a similar thread.

I would just like to say one thing to Augie and his team before they pack their bags and leave town........HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, if Cal can put TA&M out of their misery tomorrow, all will be well with the CWS world.  Go Bears!!

Actually I want aTm to win.  I like Rob Childress.  What he's done down there is why so many were upset when MA took over at NU.

They also have Sawyers and Seely on staff.

Yep and apparently they are better coaches than we thought.  It just goes to show that not only can MA not coach, he can't even allow his assistants to coach and make them better.  I do hope aTm wins at least 1 game then goes home.   Smiley
Don't forget that A&M has tons of talent nearby to choose from, we don't have quite as much in this area. They should be a good team.

If Childress had been picked instead of MA, he wouldn't have allowed the baseball team to slip the same way MA did.  Childress built aTm back up from basically nothing.  MA was the wrong choice for the job.  RC was the right choice when Van Horn left.  To bad RC didn't get the job.

“We've focused on 40-yard dash all these years. Actually, 10-yard dash is much more important in identifying talent. Coaches are just hung up on what they've always done. If you don't beat an athlete in the first few steps, it doesn't matter what your 40 time is."

I refuse to buy that logic. If we buy into that, we will never be good at anything. If its true, then we should just pack it in and drop to D2 and try our best to win something every now and then.

We produce enough local talent to compete at a high level in baseball.  Look at this year's all-state team as an example.  If I'm not mistaken, 3 are going to Wichita St and 4 are going to Nebraska.  I think one is going to Creighton.

Our state produces a lot of good baseball players per capita; we can have our foundation from local kids and then recruit nationally to fill out the roster.  We should expect to have a strong program; it all depends on the coaching.
