It makes sense.  Although it makes me laugh that nobody was there with a check for me during January when I was going through 3 a days for wrestling and all the university services were shut down until after the 3rd week of January.  Seems like a double standard, does it not?

they must have been trying to make sure you made weight!  OHIO, I have to tell you, I've said this many times, I have never personally witnessed anything more grueling in college athletics then a typical day in the life of a wrestler's workout.  My hat is off.

Thank you.  I have to be honest, my sophomore year I moved up to heavyweight, but cutting freshman year was miserable.

My worst college wrestling memory was one year I stayed in town (we got two days or so for Thanksgiving) and were drinking a few beers and watching football at a fraternity house of one of the wrestlers.  One of the local guy's Mom offered to cook for us.  Coach finds out where we are and calls the house (someone mistakenly answers) and says hey, if you aren't doing anything, let's have practice.  So there we are, on a almost never heard of day off, practicing after Thanksgiving dinner instead of finally chilling out for a day.  About six of us, and nobody near my weight so I ended up pretty much practicing with myself.

I hated that guy.

that's funny.  yes, you guys worked it man.  I went to UNO.  I'd see those guys and they were amazingly incredible.  Humble too, that or just too tired to spout off and be obnoxious.

Something I've found over the years.  Lightweight wrestlers = extreme trouble and/or streaking.  I don't know what it is but guys 134 and below got in so much trouble it was hard to keep track of.  Funny as hell, but trouble too.  My senior year in college I challenged three of them (team guys) on spring break down in Florida in a hotel hallway.  Thought being much larger I would crush the little bastards.  They beat me to a pulp.  Pretty humiliating.

you gotta buck up Ohio.  that's disgraceful.  I saw Ryan Kaufman take the starch out of Jerry Skow one night at a party.  I think he went 134 at the time,  Skow about 275

There is nothing worse than being a look back all-star, but some of my favorite memories were bear hugging football players to their back in the weight room and making them cry uncle Bob (yes, my name is Bob).  They weren't Husker players, but college football players none the less.  And now I am washed up.  The best I could do was throw out an Uncle Rico line now and then.
