Just saw the final...OUCH!!!!!
71-40 Buckeyes. NU gets outrebounded 44-21, had 17 turnovers and 16 field goals. McCray-13, BRIch-11 & Spencer 10. Early 13-0 run Buckeyes pretty much set the tone.

We got slammed on the boards, that's what really killed us. That and no offensive inside option whatsover. Not that Diaz would have done much against that font line, but at least he's a big enough threat that they would have to respect him.
It was really pathetic to be honest. Just a bad, bad game. I will give Ohio State credit though, that's probably a Final 4 team depending on their bracket.

I think by any bracket OSU is a Final Four team. They drove me to Tequila when they destroyed Duke earlier this year. Sullinger is a beast.

Nebraska plays basketball?
Sadly, this is exactly why Nebraska will never be relevant in basketball.

Imagine the score if those 2 stats weren't so bad for them? Double ouch

Scoring one point per minute in football is awesome. Scoring one point per minute in basketball is.....well.....not so awesome.

Sadly, nobody cares about this comment. Imagine the replies if this was said about the football team.
But hey we may be moving in that direction.

i watched the first half and a bit of the second. let's just say i didn't opt out of my usual time at the gym when i saw the game was on a tuesday instead of a wednesday. to me, they looked scared out there. they turned over OSU a good deal in the first half and could've stuck with them a little bit. but again, their scoring is so limited. they don't have an inside game. they don't have a dribble drive game - bo settles for jumpers, walker is best getting it off a screen, and richardson is too small. they don't really have a consistent jump shooting game, either. bo can get hot, mccray can get hot, walker can get hot. but mccray shot 5-14, and bo shot 5-15. not exactly hot.
the rebounding was killer, obviously. but OSU can shoot from anywhere. they shot poorly from 3. but they shot 68% in the 1st half and their scrubs brought it down in the 2nd. but they're an unbelievable team. they're athletic as heck and they can play the game. they don't just run and jump, but they can shoot and score it, too. this is a team up there with what you'd see from a KU team that was final four bound. i think they'll be a #1 seed. that doesn't excuse a 30 pt loss. but don't think they're getting blown out by some also-ran.
illinois will be tough. i haven't seen them play, but i'm guessing they can play a little bit. and that gym is tough. it always looks loud as heck. it's got a bubble feel to it and they pack it full of everyone in orange. at least they used to, doubt it's changed. will be a tough environment to get a win for a team that's in a tough stretch.
