on now. Huskers tied close to the half. Diaz & talley both playing. Diaz twisted his ankle, though. Diaz providing a scoring impact. Talley's timing looks off. Still our best penetrator. Way too turnovers. 11 already. If we held on to it, we'd have a good grasp.

big red up 25-22 @ half. Fans boo illini off court after huskers shut down their last possession. Illini should get back their big guy leonard after he got 2 fouls. NU getting after it with the double team though. Really, if NU didn't have 12 turnovers, they'd be in command. Illinois has 10 of their own. They're really as bad as us on offense. I think they'll clean it up this half (hard to get much worse) and get the W.

should mention they're without their leading scorer dj richardson, who hurt his wrist this week. He played 4 min. But, hey, screw em. Somebody else can have some bad luck for once.

Diaz is really showing what he means to the team. Post entry gives everybody a chance to take a breath and see the floor. Make cuts, open shooters. Changes the game when the defense has to guard the other way - inside-out. Makes them uncomfortable out there. Up 2 now, playing well. Illinois making shots now, though. Gotta clamp down right now.

what a bs call by ed hightower. Who could've seen that coming, right? It was a hard foul but he swiped the ball. Hightower is a dip and has been for 20 years.

Jeez....that was a BS call on the intentional. Flippin Ed. Minus that call, that game goes down to a last second shot for somebody.
Diaz played hurt through two different injuries. You can see what he means to this team, how it opens things up. I know some don't like him and don't think he would make a difference, but he really does. Let's pretend Talley and Diaz were healthy all year, we win that game.
I really wanted us to pull this game out, too many turnovers.

Oh, and that play Doc drawed up coming out of the time out to go back door to Bo was a really, really good call. Perhaps the game is different if we finished that.

I didn't like it personally. Run the clock down and then it's either open or you're throwing up a prayer if not? Wasn't like it was the last shot of the game. Try that early and if not open, run the offense. Shot themselves in the foot there.

He was, unfortunately for us, the story of the game. In a game where most people were struggling offensively, he was lights out.

I thought it was a great call because it was there. You are right though, it was a long pass and perhaps not as high of percentage play as we could have got. Obviously, it didn't work.
Man, I really thought we'd get this game.
