Came to work today and about 10 different people asked me if this meant that Doc would NOT be fired!
Nice win, did not blow it down the stretch.
BUT I would temper some of the enthusiasm. Ohio St. next!
Anybody out there actually think we will finish with a winning record? Shocked

Nope. Gonna be a very rough February for the Huskers. Doc's gone. He always gets 1 big win a year and it's always at home. Shocked me when they got a big win on the road at USC but they follow that up with a few bad losses and the win seems irrelevant now. I don't see him winning another road game this year in the conference.

Can someone explain to me what happened to "all student seating" in the lower section? When I was there many years ago, the students filled the bottom section on the sides and the end. Now geezers sitting on their hands look to be on the sides of the court and students only on the ends behind the baskets. Did the old-timers bitch to get better seats or do students just not show up in enough numbers?

The latter.

And could you please refrain from the "geezer" and "old-timer" BS? It's disrespectful and rude.

The money from their tickets counts just as much as anyone else's, and they pay more of it per ticket than the students.
I'm in the geezer and old-timer crowd and older than you Solly. Sorry if it offends you, but I could do worse.  They pay more and have more so it is fair. Students should get a break, no? It is their school.

The crowd noise was pathetic. Can't believe we can't sell that place out for a historic program like IU.

NU basketball is far from historic.  We are a football school not a basketball school.  Not sure if the fans there quite know how to cheer for them.  All the cheers and songs the band played are what they do for football and I personally identify with them as football and not basketball.  Not to say I couldn't cheer for them at the game which I do and did last night from my living room, just saying it's different.  It would be 1 thing if we were a program like KU, Duke, UNC, etc, but we aren't and never will.  Enjoy the fact that Devaney was sold out and from what I could hear on TV they were pretty into it.

“We've focused on 40-yard dash all these years. Actually, 10-yard dash is much more important in identifying talent. Coaches are just hung up on what they've always done. If you don't beat an athlete in the first few steps, it doesn't matter what your 40 time is."

The paid was around 10.5 and actual was around 8.4. The crowd generated a good amount of noise for who was there. It was definitely a far cry from the days when we'd get it rocking for the Jayhawks.

I can remember packing the place with 15k when Moe Iba was coach. That was for Colorado! Certainly the same for KU, ISU, MU, OU. Maybe less for mid-week games. I remember getting kicked out of a game or two for unruly behavior. Yeah, like police and everything! Now wearing face paint or a goofy outfit is outrageous. The bball games were fun compared to the nail biting football games, because we weren't supposed to win and you could pull for the upset. If you didn't get it, nothing lost. I guess football fills that role now.
