I read a rumor on another site that Heard maybe/has been asked to move to CB. The staff thinks he could be transformed like Prince was. Can any insiders confirm or deny this?
It has also been speculated he may not be a fan of this and could possibly transfer.

First I have heard of it so seeing if I can find anything out. I would be surprised they would take such a highly touted RB and change him to CB, especially with the amount of top notch DB talent as we are closing in on signing.

Lots of stuff gets thrown out there. Some sticks and some doesn't. Heard would have the final say so regardless. As much as some people want us to believe kids are forced to switch, not a single insider I have ever known has ever said anything but that the final decision is the players to make.

My assessment as a non-insider is that Heard has the most upside as a complete back once Burkhead graduates. It seems weird to take a guy who can give you so much at the position he's at currently and move him to the other side of the ball.

From his perspective, if he becomes a good corner or a good running back his chances are better at the next level at CB. Maybe I haven't seen enough of him at RB to say that he won't be big enough or hard to tackle in the pros, but didn't see anything extraordinary last season.

Well we do have that Marrow kid...the coach's son I think...and he will be eligible to play in '12 after sitting out the '11 season. 

Plus we're apparently recruiting a bigger back (230 pounds) from Georgia (who I have some real reservations about due to his limited highlight reel).

So there's one, potentially two RBs coming into the fold if Heard does in fact move to CB.

Why would we do that, Bo has developed some nice Corners, right?  Plus we have the Jucos coming.

Two positions on defense that a team can never have "too many" quality players of: DT and CB.

Braylon Heard was hobbled all of last season with a serious leg infection.

A healthy Braylon Heard >>> the 2011 edition of Braylon Heard.
