I live in Tampa, and heard on local radio today that Kelly had actually accepted the job, and then either got cold feet or maybe Phil Knight stuffed his pockets with cash and then he backed out.

Yup.  They had already offered the Oregon's OC the Kelly's job...but then once Kelly backed out, they had to go back to the boosters and make sure it was ok to go back and basically take the job back...and by making sure it was ok, I mean they had to make sure they would pony up the $$ to make it all better...
