I really doubt the rag up in Madison covered some of them Marquette or UW-Milwaukee basketball teams.  Nor do I think the Columbus paper covered some of them Xavier or Cinci teams.  My point is of course the LJS is all about Nebraska with everyone else being an afterthought.

You're just upset and a bit offended that Creighton isn't getting their props from all the major rags in the state.  Who cares?  The OWH has enough coverage and they are the largest paper in the state.  The should be satisfactory for you shouldn't it?  Creighton has and always will play second fiddle to NU football.

not upset at all.... the original post about the LSJ was in responce to someone bellyaching about the OWH not giving nu hoops proper coverage. I pointed out the LSJ has never given CU any props. there are plenty of pages in the OWH to go around for all the states schools.  LSJ is a one pony race and IS the mouthpiece for NU sports, its no big deal. it morphed into a tit for tat about other university home city news rags not covering other instate schools, which is bs, LSJ is just a bad paper.

Yeah I see your point, but most all of those schools are big time basketball.  Or were at one time.  Many fans and allegiances to all of them.  Not sure how the Charlotte Observer squeezes all of them into the paper but they do.

Probably.  Just as long as my Heels get their due diligence.   Wink

what causes the hallucinations of some Creighton fans since the OWH has such a global view of college athletics?  Just a question.

what would those be? most the folks in my section are just enjoying the season and the quality of play. some big games coming up and if the Jays can take care of business it could be a very special year. Lots of folks making plans for STL and Arch Madness. if the Jays can play to their potential it could be one of the best CU teams ever.

You mean if Doug McDermott plays to his potential.  The rest of the team outside of Young are role players.  Creighton will go as far as McDermott will take them.  In the meantime, Waylon, you had better be praying to Mary that there aren't any teams with an athletic or very physical front court in your NCAA Tourney bracket.

Probs the last time we beat Iowa, they are a young squad and get Gessell and Woodbury for next year.

Yeah, the future looks pretty bright for Iowa.  It could be bright for us, too if Osborne will do what needs to be done.  Will he?
Creighton fills 16500 seats  NU 6000 on a good night. I would say he has to!

wonder how the fan base reacts to a former Creighton coach?Huh?

Sadly, this is a reality.  Osborne would be making a big mistake.  I think there are better choices we can make.

I'm not sure the decision will come down to what Creighton's attendance is.  I agree though, attendance is and should be a huge factor.  In the Nee golden era, the Bob was packed full and was one of the hardest placed to play in the country.  It could be that way again if Nebraska resurrected its basketball program.

Waylon, I know you Creighton fans are riding high.  You guys should be absolutely proud of your team, they are having a great season so far.  You are going to find out sooner or later that you shouldn't be deifying your coach.  Yeah, he'll do well in the Valley....nevermind, you'll find out.

I know you know more about basketball than that.... thru the OOC I would agree. They are building depth and they have several ways to beat you, pick your poison. CU is ranked in several overall categories...7th in points per game. 2nd in assists per game, 1st in field goal percentage, 1st in 3 point field goal percentage. Echenique has put up 4 double doubles, pack the paint on them and there are 5 legit 3 point shooters when they double up on DM or GE. Last nights game and the Drake game were the ugliest wins of the season but they are still finding silver linings with the play of the freshmen in the rotation. that will pay off bigtime come tourney time. Lots of ball left to play but it is not a one man show anymore, really never was, the OOC just allowed it to happen.  Sure is fun to watch. IMO they continue to gget better.

i know what you are referring to, CU is lucky to have the ability to outscore the teams they are playing. Getting this team to lock down on D is a big issue. 8 more games to get that figured out, it could come back to bite them for sure.

I say no, but I didn't think he would get rid of Anderson either.

Look at what Hoiberg is doing for ISU.  A good coach is all it takes man.

Freaking Fred Hoiberg. I never thought there'd be a day I wished I had that guy as my coach.
