Foot injury, not ready for baseball. Plans to graduate in May. Is he going to be on the roster come fall?

I have a friend who missed out on thousands of dollars to go back to college instead of skipping his senior year. Sometimes money can't replace the college experience.

You can say the same thing about Logan Ehlers. Turned down a boatload of money, got a hefty suspension by the NCAA, played a little bit last year, and transferred to a lower level college.

Khiry and Logan will both be better people for the path they have chosen. Poor but better.

I hope not. He's been a waste of a roster spot to this point. Unless his foot heals up, and he can suddenly surpass the receivers who've been working on football exclusively during their careers, NU could use the open scholarship.
Khiry Cooper is a cautionary tale for those that think they can excel at multiple sports in college as they did in high school. It is orders of magnitude more difficult in college.

Agree completely, very few can do it. In today's world, it would tak an insane athlete just to make it work. Pick a sport, dedicate yourself.

Who is the last player to truly excel in two sports in college and the pros? Deion Sanders?

Without doing a whole lot of research, Dave Winfield (baseball & basketball) and Bo Jackson (football and baseball) of the same approximate era come to mind as two sport athletes. But, you're right, the really good ones are few and far between.

Very few even try in the pro ranks. The demand and the talent is too great at that level, which shows just how amazing both Deion and Bo were as athletes. Can get away within in college where you can still got by with sheer athleticism.

Along with Daniel's list, another phenomenal athlete.

If you are talking pro level, Sanders and BO Jackson.

Weinke maybe? He did a few years in the NFL and did he get past double A ball in baseball? He's not at Bo or Deion's level, but he was a millionaire when he went to college, so he did OK for himself.
