I'm not exactly new.  I was a fairly avid poster several years ago (2003-2004 or there abouts) but life caught up with me and some things had to go.  I am formerly known here as Lothar but I couldn't remember my password and my old email address is no longer valid so I signed up as a newbie.  If an admin can get my old account reactivated that would be sweet!

Since I "left" BHF, I've had the rare opportunity to pursue my lifelong dream of opening my own restaurant here in Lincoln.  Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned and we were forced to shut down after 13 months.   Basically we ran out of operating capital to keep us going.  I was the owner/operator of  Shadowbrook Salad Company, just south of 56th & Pine Lake Road (for those of you in Lincoln).  Anyway, the restaurant totally monopolized my life for a couple of years - hence the hiatus.

Anyway, I am a lifelong Lincoln resident, save for 5 years of college at Northwest Missouri State University and a lifelong Husker fan.  I really enjoyed my time at BHF prior to giving it up and I am excited to be back.  I find it great to see that there are so many posters still around after all these years - Bummerbry, UNKLopers, Solly, Huskers949597 and I was sad to read about Diehard.

Anyway, I look forward to bantering with everyone!

I'm a little confused. I thought I was a member of this site several years ago but then it sort of disappeared. Can anyone shed some light on this? Did the site go down and come back?

I've been a Husker fan as long as I can remember, was 6 years old when Huskers won their 1st title in 1970. I vividly remember Tom Osborne's 1st game as head coach against Pepper Rodger's UCLA team..a 40-13 win for the Huskers who had QB David Humm at the time. My 1st Husker game at Memorial Stadium was a 1974 blowout win over Northwestern, an experience I'll never forget. I haven't lived in Nebraska since 1977 but I've never lost my love of Nebraska football! I've seen them play in a lot of road games........a Nebraska-Oklahoma game in 1987 and Nebraska-Washington in 1997 being the 2 biggest games. I also saw them play at Cal, USC, UCLA twice, Arizona State, and the Alamo Bowl against Michigan being the ones that come to mind.

The last few years have been brutal, Bill Callahan and Steve Pederson are the worst thing to ever happen to Nebraska.....thank God they are both gone for good! I was ecstatic when the Huskers corrected the original mistake and were able to get Bo Pelini to return to the job he should have had all along! Now that I know this site is back to normal, I'll be around a lot more.

Hello all! I have been using this site for several years now and find the info very good.  This place helps me fill my craving for 24/7 Husker talk.  Im 42 years old and have been a avid husker fan for 42 years and 9 months LOL.  I farm and ranch around Crawford Ne. out in the panhandle and my first memories of the huskers are when my dad would stop fencing or whatever else we would be doing and listen to the Huskers on the radio.  I have been to a handful of games over the years and my dream now is to take my three daughters and wife to a game.  (any input as to how to the best place to find 5 seats together for less than an arm and a leg would be greatly appriciated)!  If i lived closer than 450 miles away I would be at every game as memorial stadium on game day is one of the 7 wonders of the world to me. Keep up the good info and awesome posts, I may speak up occassionally! Thanks all!!

Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join the board!  I've lived in Lincoln and been a Husker fan since I was born,  i'm a student at UNL and there is no place like Nebraska Smiley  I haven't been banned elsewhere but I do come from the ESPN Husker boards where i've posted for the last 3-4 years.  After looking for a good board to call "home" I ran into this one, and after lurking for a while it seems like a great husker community.  Lets hope for a good end of the season and a bowl game every year and a return to where we belong!

Looking forward to reading everyone's comments and participating in discussions with my fellow husker fans here!
GO BIG RED!!

I live in San Antonio, winters are 100000 times better than the Heartland, my wife is from here, and my kids are in school.  BUT, they are the Texans, not me.  I have always maintained that I am a Husker who lives in Texas.  My first kid is named Blair after the best town in Nebraska and my second one is named Jamie after a former Husker wingback who is my oldest friend.  Backed up Fryar during the heydays.

Longtime Lurker........I watch three Husker Boards year-round, always liked BHF.  Solly has always had a lot of keen insight into the program and I have liked hearing about these things.

I never posted anything on any of 'em until two things happened.
1)  I finally became fed up with Shawn Watson and needed to get it off my chest.
2)  I got po'd at something written by one of the BHF members and wanted to insert my 2 cents.

Husker fan since my parents let me stay up to watch the 84 Orange Bowl.  Related to some former Huskers.  Went to UNL during the championship years.  I more than likely know some of you folks on here.

Posted at a Husker board quite a few years ago but left when I thought an ex was stalking me there.  Undecided

Anyway, some good stuff here and I may stick around for a while.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking at this site for a few months. I  posted at Huskerpedia and was looking for an alternative to that site even before the meltdown occurred over there.

My story is a little unusual. I was born and raised near Philadelphia and grew up rooting for the professional teams in the area. My exposure to college football was whatever team was on TV on Saturdays, usually Penn St. For some reason, I never became a Penn St. fan maybe because "Happy Valley" is closer to Pittsburgh than to Philly. I moved to Nebraska in late 1995 during the Lawrence Phillips scandal. I didn't become a Husker fan right away because I was still attached to the Eagles, Phillies and Flyers, even though the greatest college football team was romping to the NC. The Arizona St. game in 1996 was when I realized I was a Husker fan. I remember listening to that game at work and getting more upset as Nebraska was giving up safeties and not being able to move the ball against a team they hammered the year before. Since that game, I've been a Husker diehard from the final Osborne years to the current Pelini era.

Sorry for the long winded intro. Looking forward to contributing to this board and GBR.
