Well, sounds like Doc didnt push him away like many have said.

Bo is a tremendous leader. He's a no nonsense guy. It's black and white and these guys understand that. These players want to be taught and they want to be pushed, and they want to know at the end of the day you give a damn about them.  Mike Ekeler

Both Ping and Strowbridge didn't want to leave but were forced by Doc.

it's not in the papers and never will be.

he's not the only one to hear this, though.

imo it's more a situation where doc sat down with these individuals and let them know that they were likely to never see much playing time ever again in lincoln, and that it would be in their best interests to find another school to play for.

the same thing is done at countless programs across the county, and is done in the NU football offices on occasion as well.

It's kind of all about the way it was done, that got teammates frustrated.  I could see getting rid of Ping but I thought Strowbridge was a bit ridiculous.  Personally, I dont like that coaches can just get rid of a player for no reason other then he isn't good enough.  They are the ones that recruited him, they should have to deal with it unless they are causing problems.  I don't think it happens much at all in football personally, atleast not at NU.  TAke Beau Davis for instance, he would of been gone long ago by Doc.

Jay-R was not "forced" out.  He was unhappy about his playing time and realized it was going to just get worse in the future.  He could have stayed on scholarship had he wanted to.  Ping, on the other hand, was pretty much told that if Nebraska oversigned, he was the player who was going to be without a scholarship next year.

That's just what I heard from a very credible source.  I'm fairly certain this is what happened, but perhaps even he could be wrong....doubtful though.  I will tell you something that is for sure, Jay-R came very close to transfering after his Freshman season and again at semesters end this December.

I could have sworn I saw Strowbridge and Ryan Anderson signing autographs along the sideline fence near the north east corner during the spring game.  Is there another guy with the dreads that could have been with Ryan Anderson?

I'm pretty sure it was Strow.  Strow has been still hanging with the team.
