I can't help myself.  I have to keep my thread going.  This Celtic team has a lot of heart.  Rivers has done miracles getting them to buy into his system in such a short time.

But what did I like the most???  After the game the C's were not delusional.  They know and acted like they know that they still have to win another game.  This is the stuff the Celtics are made of.

The Lakers on the other hand ...

i have to say, either the C's are getting better as the playoffs go one or the competition is easier ... i think it's both

the lakers aren't even putting up a decent fight like the hawks and cavs did ... not even the pistons really .... with them i was actually worried the C's could lose the series ...

it's like everyone (laker fans) kept wishing they had their own big three ... but they are just another teams with a superstar and no other great players .... just role players that can't consistently make the difference in a long playoff season ....

really, if the C's take out the minneapolis lakers (don't try and convince me these are the LA lakers) in 5, i guess i have to say this is really one of the better C's teams .... they just keep grinding away ... remember the texas trio when they did the very same thing to the spurs in SA?  down huge and came back to win ...

this stuff ain't happening by accident ...

and the C's didn't go 25-5 against the west by accident (5-1 against the minneapolis lakers so far too) ....

the C's are quite simply the class of the NBA ....

Congrats to the Lakers.  I didn't think they would hang on to win.  This practice of the C's not starting to play until the second quarter has got to stop.  The got behind by 16 in the first and it was totally uphill from then on.  I thought the Lakers would fold, but the didn't.

It was a fun game to watch.

And so, a thread started on March 28th comes finally to a close.  The "Run to Glory" ends gloriously.  The Boston Celtics, a team I started following in 1955, has won a 17th NBA championship.  And it's captain, a local boy from nearby Inglewood High School, is the Finals MVP.  Sports wise it doesn't get any better than this.  I'm smoking one for Red tonight.  And hoisting one for Johnny Most. Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy
