Suh may have had a reason for the arm stomp......

Quote
Former Green Bay Packer Matt Brock revealed Thursday some inside information as to what likely sparked Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to stomp on an opposing player's arm during the Lions-Packers Thanksgiving Day matchup.

Brock, speaking on KXTG radio in Portland, Ore., said he learned from Packers offensive line coach James Campen that Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith was instructed to untie Suh's shoelaces at every possible opportunity during the game.

"So my friend, James [Campen] — man, I probably shouldn't say his name, he told me not to tell this, and I was like, 'Whatever,' — he's the offensive line coach. The center, or one of his guards, he's had like one or two starts in his career and he's got to play against Suh. So he's pretty puckered, right? So, he's talking to James, the offensive line coach, going, 'What do I do? What do I do?'"

"James is just in his mind going, 'This guy is going to get killed. I got to take his mind off it, give him something else to do.' So he says, 'OK, every time you're in a pile, I want you to focus on something. I want you to untie his shoes.

"'Anytime you can, just reach in; he's got floppy shoe laces, he doesn't spat (cover them with tape) or anything, just untie his shoes. It will irritate him.'"

Brock said the Packers offensive lineman untied Suh's shoes three times during the game.

"That's why he stomped him," Brock said. "That's why he banged his head on the ground and he stomped him."

Anyone who has children will attest the having your shoes untied against your will, while you are trying to get something done, and repeatedly in a short amount of time is grounds for a beating . . . . Lips sealed

Suh is exhonerated in my mind.

Ha ha ha, that's kind of toolish, but an awesome strategy to throw someone off their game.

I loved Suh during his time here and was looking forward to rooting for him in the pros. But I'm really souring on him lately. He needs to grow up and get his head on straight. He seems much more concerned with self-promotion and drawing attention to himself through his ridiculous antics than he is with making an impact on the field. And the sophomore slump he seems to be going through really reflects that.

Well, if nothing else, your timing is impeccible, Tfree Wink  Suh just blocked the FG to save the comeback win against Oakland.  Hurray for him!

That shoelaces thing is great. They may need a new strategy when Denard Robinson gets in the NFL though.

Stomping the guy was wrong and deserved the punishment he got - but good grief, the guy isn't on drugs - isn't using PED's - isn't beating his girlfriend/wife - isn't making the kind of mistakes that normal 23 year old guys don't all make (i.e. bad driver with a hot-rod).  He's very charitable -- engages with his fans - is very well spoken and accessible to the media - is an absolute ambassador to his University, his city, his hometown, and his current team.

He happens to play a position that requires him to be rather mean, nasty - and yes, somewhat dirty.  That's what makes hims a great player.  Take a look at the overall statistics of Detroits defense while he was out compared to when he's there - his sacks and tackle numbers aren't the important #'s - the TEAM's #'s are.  Then you'll see his impact.  He's almost single handedely changed the culture of the Detroit Lions defense - some would argue the whole team - one that will likely be playing in the playoffs for the first time in 10 + years.

The dude is more than alright with me, and certainly deserves quick forgiveness by Husker fans if you ask me.

I agree.  But sometimes it's just too easy to pile on...

(And welcome back!  I think this is the first time you've posted in months.)

Are you sure?  His behavior at times is consistent with roid rage.

Thanks man. Someone I know posted it on Facebook. It makes me want to figure out how to get better at using Photoshop. It'd be fun to make stuff like that.

Suh is named the most charitable athlete

Quote
The dirtiest player in the NFL is apparently the most charitable.

The Giving Back Fund released its list of 30 celebrities who gave the most money to charities.

Ndamukong Suh’s donation of $2.6 million to his alma mater, the University of Nebraska, made him the most generous athlete in America and No. 6 among all celebrities on the list.

Suh donated $2 million to the University of Nebraska’s athletic department. He also gave $600,000 to the University of Nebraska’s Lincoln College of Engineering to endow a scholarship.

ROTFLMAO!  That's hilarious.  What would be even better is when the chase is done and SUH is waiting at the popsicle stand the kid ties SUH's shoe's together.   Grin
