I maybe reading too much into this, but it seems Bo and friends are going after some DE/LB players that are coming off of the edge on the recruiting trail.  Is this possibly a change in scheme?  Could it be we just want better athletes coming off of the edge and creating more pressure that way in the current scheme?  Or is there a chance we could see some 3-4 elements emerge here and there?  I think colleges seem to have a harder time running a 3-4 because it's hard to get the right personnel.  A huge space eater NT, and guys to come off of the edge, but it seems we want, and in my opinion, need to get more pressure off of the edge from our DE's or an OLB.  I like the guys they are going after and will be curious to see if there are any changes.

I thought I read somewhere (on here maybe) that Bo was tinkering with a 3-4 scheme?

I agree - 3-4 seems a little tough to get that big NT in the college ranks...

Why would we run more peso when we are facing less teams that run spread offenses?

It's a bit oxymoronic for Bo to be looking for speed rushers off the edge, when our base defensive package doesn't call for much speed rushing at all.

I think it is nuts to not have dends who go after the qb, about the only thing I don't agree with Bo on.  No Dend pressure and Taylor Martinez as a good qb.  Bo's 2 biggest flaws with me.

After the way our D line went after the QB this year, some change would seem warranted, dont you agree?

Pressure with the DEs off the edge is desperately needed...

Bo needs to disrupt the opposing qb's. I don't care where he sends it from.

BAM!  Couldn't agree more.  I could care less if he used 1 defensive lineman and the rest as LBs and DBs just so long as we get to the QB every time they throw the ball.

I think alot of our pass rush issues are simply being more productive on 1st down.  When teams are in obvious passing downs it allows us to be more aggressive off the edge, but when teams are facing 2nd or 3rd and short it slows our ends down from getting up field.  Another factor slowing down the ends from flying up field is when you play teams with a mobile qb who can make you pay when you miss.  That is one area that not many mention where Martinez needs to improve, he runs well north and south, but doesn't scramble well in the pocket.

Scheme says when playing mobile QB, CONTAIN.  Do not let them get outside.   To do this you have to give the players, zones to protect.  IMHO.

But the thing is we played our worst games against mobile QB's and our best against pocket passers.
