Nice to get the first game out of the way, lots of work for them to do yet.

Ugh, if only had we not committed that huge error which blew this game wide open. Oh well, it's one game.

I felt a little disappointed for a while but that was 4 hours ago.  There were a few good signs in this game.  Rich Sanguinetti played great defense so the loss of Khiry Cooper isn't quite so bad; Christensen and Kalkowski were a combined 5-7 at the plate with 2 home runs; other than first-pitch balls, I think the pitchers did OK for the first game keeping counts favorable.  The bats disappearance late in the game was a little disappointing and reminiscent of last season, but I suppose expecting all of last season's problems to be fixed in 1 game isn't reasonable.  It may even take a week, a month, or an entire season to undo the bad habits of the last 3 years.  Dave Van Horn lost his debut, Mike Anderson won his, so it's not the end of the world ;p

I noticed a fair amount of "I told you so" comments from places like the LJS blog Angry One game! ONE GAME! And people are, apparently, convinced Erstad isn't qualified Huh This isn't football where one game breaks your season, the first 2-3 weeks are an evaluation period.  We'll wait and see what happens in April and May, things may not get better, but if they do some people are going to look very stupid.

I've always had a good laugh at people judging baseball in the first week. If we did that, the Royals would consistently be the best team every season.

I was joking, but I can't believe people seriously are upset after ONE GAME!

Yep I could tell you were being facetious.  Others are dead serious and I am shocked, I say SHOCKED Shocked  Oh well, I'm enjoying MLB Network's coverage today, UC Irvine and Southern played a decent game, but the 7 p.m. matchup kind of sucks (Prairie View A&M at Texas Southern).
