The Big 10 is off to a rip-roaring start.
South Florida 5, Ohio State 3 F
West Virginia 7, Northwestern 3 F
Minnesota leads #25 Louisville 7-3 in the bottom of the 9th now in a rain delay, but L'Ville started the inning down 6 runs and have the bases loaded with 2 outs.

Same goes for Rich Sanguinette. I've got some reading up to do.

Alright, Sanguinetti is the player who came up with coach Bolt. Kelly is the young freshman shortstop out of Minnesota who is good enough to come in and take the spot from Christianson.

I gotta be honest, I've never heard of any of these guys. It's been a long time since I could name all 8 regular starters.

A right jolly old chap from Red Wing, Minnesota, he'll be wearing #9 like Joe Simokaitis did as a freshman. High expectations.
An upset is brewing in the Coca-Cola Classic out in Rock Hill, SC as #9 Georgia Tech is losing to unranked Kent State 4-0 in the 9th inning. Virginia lost to Boston College 5-3.
Iowa came back to beat Pittsburgh 7-5.
If you're interested in watching a game or two, MLB Network will have some live coverage of college baseball tomorrow, I forget the matchups but I'll watch a little bit anyway.

@kevinsjuts: Anyone else find the irony in Nebraska's starting pitcher for the Erstad era opener, Zach Hirsch, wears #27, the same # Mike Anderson often wore.
No, I did not know that.

Georgia Tech loses 5-0 to Kent State. Minnesota and Louisville will resume action at 6 p.m. (Eastern time, I think).
Notre Dame and Illinois are tied at 11 in the 8th inning, so hooray for pitching (14 hits for Notre Dame, on opening day. Holy crap. And only 7 for Illinois, but 7 walks.) And as I type Notre Dame retakes the lead.
