Sounds like he already met with the basketball staff. I have to think that a change is in the works.

Sad day, but had to happen. Lets be respectful of the guy, he gave it his best shot but it just wasn't good enough. I don't understand how people can be so venomous to this guy who gave it his all.

IMO this is what makes this whole thing so difficult.

For all practical purposes, if Doc couldn't do it...who can?  At this time of his hire, he was easily the best mid-major coach available.

I respect Doc's effort, but he just wasn't up to the challenge.  If his firing was in doubt lately, Doc basically saying that T. O. owed it to him to not fire him because he turned down some phone calls would be the straw that broke the camel's back in my book.  That was throwing down the gauntlet to T.O.  Maybe say it privately, but not publicly.

Agreed....and he's by all accounts an incredibly nice guy, a very decent human being and a good basketball coach. It's unfortunate that things just don't work out sometimes. But let's show some respect and appreciation for Doc's efforts here.

This is how irrelevant we are. Not even a mention on ESPN yet.

Doc at the podium very emotional. Very hard to listen to. He wanted to get this done.
