Man, this team will be starting from pretty much scratch. Depending on your point of view this could be good or bad. It will boil down to recruits. Here's hoping.

yeah, next year is going to be rough. Probably going to be just as bad next year as Miles' first year at Colorado State.

We need to bring in a post player or two really badly.
If only we could have kept Coleman! Or, ...

Rosenthal tweeted that they're looking to put Niemann as a medical hardship. Which means he gets his money but for all intents isn't going to play again. Not sure if that's what Barfy was getting at. Whoops, guess that was in there when I got around to reading it. Miles will have a little room to play with jucos and the such this year and next. Think he'll fill all 13 this year? I'm not sure there's a lot of need to do that, especially at this point in the game. Getting Biggs is probably about as good as you could hope for at this point. Obviously they're going to have to scrape up a few more, but what will they have open? They were 1 over with the signings for next year, but they've cut 2 or those (probably 3 if they ever get a hold of the Bosnian). Then take away Diaz, Moore, and Niemann, that leaves 5 scholarships, right, even including Shields and Parker. Can't see them taking 7 guys this year...

If they end up being shorthanded next year, are there any football players with a basketball background who could fill in once the FB season is over?

According to research cited in "The Sociopath Next Door," one in every 25 people is a sociopath.  This means they have no conscience and no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt or remorse.  They can literally do anything at all without feeling guilty.  You undoubtedly know at least one.

This was to be expected, anything better than last year would have to be termed, miracle!

Agreed that next year is gonna be brutal.  As far as I'm concerned, Miles can save a 'ship or two rather than give them out to average players, save it for the November signing period.

Average is better than what we have now.
