While it is a fine compliment to Bo, isn't a real insult to Nebraska?

Why on earth would you leave Nebraska to go to Ark-kansas and get whipped by Bama and LSU every year?

That doesn't make any sense at all, and I am personally offended.

Ohio State, Notre Dame, LSU - sure I can see the reasoning there.  But Ark-Kansas?

Plu-eezze.

What ticks me off is the comments that tend to bash Bo (without merit I must say). He isn't interested, isn't going, didn't stick his name out there, etc. So why say things negative things towards/about him just because some media hack threw out a list of names. The fact that we have to hear/read this B.S. each time an opening comes up just sucks.

Bo is on the short list if Pope Benedict dies.

There are a lot of idiots out there, Bryan.  Unfortunately, some of them call themselves Husker fans.  Accept it and you'll feel a great weight lifted off your shoulders.

Calling Nebraska a "destination job," Bo Pelini on Wednesday brushed off speculation that he could become a candidate for the vacant head football coaching position at Arkansas.

He was asked if he was flattered that his name often is mentioned when a high-profile job opens.

"You talking about the Arkansas thing?" Pelini asked. "Actually, I didn't even know my name got thrown around. I don't even know how that stuff happens.

"I'm here and I'm happy to be here."

That is just coach speak.  He is obviously lying and is in all reality sending out his resume to every school with an opening.  [/sarcasm]

Yeah, notice he didnt say he wasnt interested! Why doesnt he just come out and say it?

You know why? I know someone who works for Time Warner in Fayetteville and he just installed cable in Bob Davies' former summer cottage and said Bo just signed the lease.

Never understood why it is pronounced Arkansaw while  ks is pronounced kansas.    And the Arkansas river flows thru kansas but even they pronounce it arkansaw river.

I've lived in Kansas since I was 9, and I still cringe every time I hear someone call the river 'ar-kansas' - or worse, the state.

'Kansas' and 'Arkansas' are both indirectly derived from the same Native American root word, though. In a sense, they're both wrong.

Kansans pronounce it "Ar-KANsas" River. Arkansans pronounce it "Arkansaw" River

I have to say, I could not have predicted where this thread would end up going by page 3.
