Here's what I know.....
Strickland is being considered for the open slot on Mile's coaching staff (there is a chance he might get it) but will more than likely end up getting a GA offer. He will have to decide between that or a job at UNO.
Strickland is just awesome. Guy knows basketball and he could be one hell of a recruiter. Here's to hoping he's involved in some capacity here as we turn this thing around.

What about a position in the recruiting offices? Do we have anything there, in case the coaching position closes?

My understanding was the position he would get would be Director of Player Development. I think either that or UNK's scenario is a done deal. He is already moving back here which should be an indicator of whats happening.

What does a director of player development do, exactly? Does he have contact with recruits?

Word is that Miles is going in a different direction, and Strickland might not be in line for a job.

The former Husker and NBA player said today on his Facebook page that he’s heard from Miles, who told Strickland he’s decided to go in a different direction. Strickland said Miles is “hiring a guy who recruits overseas and locally.”
I didn't think Miles wanted foreign players? weird.

Maybe he's realized that he's going to have a tough time getting top notch talent to NU and needs to be open to foreign players who wouldn't know NU's history per se as someone form the US would.

NU does not have the luxury of cherry picking talent at this time. We will have to get it wherever and whenever we can.

That's what I was saying.
Miles has come to this realization so it would be dumb to not consider foreign players.

the money used recruiting overseas could be more wisely spent lining the pockets of aau coaches.
