The wife of "Stan the Man" passed away Thursday night.

I had the pleasure of meeting "Ms Lil or Sugar" several times and one of the most gracious women I have ever met.

Many years ago I was at the HoF induction for Country and we were standing around waiting on something to be done or someone to be introduced.
She was standing beside us and told us to "get used to it as there is nothing about this place that is on time!"

She was a major benefactor for many charities and asked Enos for something to be used in an Cancer Benefit Auction.  Enos gladly sent me something to deliver to her, a old wrinkled up Lucky Strike cigarette package with and "I O U, Stan" written on it.
I called her and informed her Enos had sent it to me and invited me over to the house,  I was greeted at the door by Stan and he took me into the dining room and she opened the envelope and began to laugh almost hysterically,  
"Priceless, absolutely Priceless"
Enos had sent a hand written Certificate of Authenticity for the empty wrapper even where it was signed at.
Stan excused himself from the room and shortly we heard "Dammit Slaughter, what else do you have?"
Ms Lil told me that just the day before Stan had done a promo for the local Cancer Society on Smoking
and that this "just beat all"
Jack Buck was the MC at the auction and had a great time riddle Stan during the auction about not knowing he smoked!
I think the pack sold for close to 3 grand if memory servers me correct
